GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
How does it works?
After signing up for free, you can post project(s) / jobs providing concise and precise details about the projects (job category, experience required, preferred's bidding geographic location, the amount of money you are willing to spend on the project and language.)
Providers/
Freelancers / Projects-Consultants will review your projects and bid on them.
This is similar to an auction. (The system allows for maximum 90 days during
which a project remain open for bidding.) In project's description you may
specify a mandatory end date (below 90 days) and you choose the winning
bid yourself. Click
here to review a concise User's Manual
How much it costs?
There is no signup fee and no monthly fee, but a commission
is charged to projects-owners by Freelance Worldwide once they have selected
the bid-winner. Said commission represents ten
percent of
the winning bid - with a minimum of US$ 5 (five) whichever
is greater. Of course there are additional fees charged by the payment
processor (Paypal or e-Gold.) Click
here for more.
How do I communicate with Freelancers?
You can post messages on projects' message boards. If you post a private
message to a specific Provider/Freelancer, only the person will see it on his
private message board. Said user will also be notified by e-mail that
you posted a message for him. After you pick a bid, and Freelance Worldwide
commissions paid, both parties can communicate directly by any preferred methods. See
Point 8 of the guidelines here available
Is there a Sign up Bonus?
Yes a US$ 5 (five) bonus is added to your balance account at
sign up
Do you have a referral program?
No, for the time being there is no referral program. However, it is planned for
the near future.
What bonus is attached to the referral program?
For the time being as there is no referral program there is no bonus. See above
item. However, it is planned for the near future.
PROJECTS AND TENDERING
How do I create a new project?
You have to be a registered Buyer / Project-Owner to be able to post / create a project.
You may review the quick User's Manual here available or go straight to Freelance Worldwide's entry page and click on Create Project button and follow instructions. When creating a Project, make sure you chose the Project/ Jobs' category related to the project.
What is a featured project?
Featured Projects are highlighted and separately listed on the platform
entry page.
During the project creation process you may choose to list your project
as featured projects. Featured projects are
charged an additional commission of US$ 30 (thirty) to
buyers/projects-owners by Freelance Worldwide. (In addition to the commissions
charged when a deal is finalized between buyer/project-owner and provider/bid
winner as here
specified)
Why do you put a limit date on posted projects?
Indeed, there is a maximum days (90) during which a posted project is open for bidding because one needs to leave room for new ones; and also to limit bandwidth's consumption at server side. Posted projects that reach the limit time are Frozen. But you can extend your project any time you want. See question below on how to do that.
Can I change the information I provided about my project?
Yes. From the interface you reach when you click on Manage
Account, you can perform the following. Edit
Info, Deposit Money [PayPal cost: 3% + $ 0.40 - per
transaction] and [E-gold cost: 1% + $.80 - per
transaction], Transfer Money [free for Paypal
or E-gold], Withdraw Money [E-gold cost: $5
and Paypal cost $5 - per transaction], Pick Provider/Project-consultant
/ Bid winner. Etc. Click
here for more on Commissions and Fees structure.
Can I close my project, extend it, or pick a freelancer?
Yes. See above question.
Can I re-open a closed a project?
No, you will have to open a new project. But you can Extend a project (within the 90 days limit allowed by Freelance Worldwide) if you are not satisfy with the bids placed on the project; and you can also Close a project (that is bidding ended.) All that is done from the interface opened with Manage Account.
Can a Project-Owner get Special User' Status?
Yes. A Project-Owner / Buyer who either post several Projects / Jobs the
same day or whose projects have been rated with high marks
by a majority of Projects' viewers may request for a Special User'
Status that opens the door to 50% rebate on Featured
Projects' postings and on commissions
to be paid to Freelance Worldwide when deals are concluded (as
here exposed) between Buyer/Project-Owner and Provider/freelancer / bid-winner.
PAYMENTS,
FEES and COMMISSIONS
Do I have to add money to my account?
Not right away, but when you pick a bid - see more below.
How and when do I pay the freelancer?
Once you are ready to pick the provider/bid-winner, login to your account and
click on (1) Manage
Account. On
the interface you reach there is a link to (2) Pick
a Provider/Project-Consultant. The freelancer will be emailed
by Freelance Worldwide. Then click on the (3) Deposit
Money to add money to your account. Deposit Money (equal to
the winning bid amount) in an (4) Escrow
Account to
the freelancer (available for each project in your account managing panel),
by clicking on the escrow link in your account panel.
Please kindly be advised that to be in the position to
Pick a Provider/Freelancer you should have enough money in your account
to cover
full commission and bid in
order to finalize the bid if you reach final agreement with the freelancer.
Suppose you are picking a freelancer / expert for a project (job) valued at
US$ 150. You need to have enough money in your account to cover the potential
commission (The commission you will be charged if you finalize the deal with
the freelancer who won the bid on your project.) The
potential commission, based on your bid, will be $15 [that is $150 *10%]
and as you have $5 in your account (the bonus
you obtained when you Sign up to Freelance Worldwide), you wil be required
to deposit $10 before proceeding with the selection of an Provider/ Expert /
Freelancer. Please be advised that the minimum deposit
accepted by the system is $5 (five)
Which kind of protection does I have?
We recommend that you use the escrow feature
in your account to arrange for payment to the
chosen Provider/freelancer/bid-winner (1) Deposit
Money into your account and then, from your Manage
Account's panel,
(2) put the money (equal to the winning bid amount) in an Escrow
Account for the eventual benefit of the Provider/freelancer who
won the bid, by clicking on the New
Escrow Payment link.
When the job is completed as per agreed terms, you will require funds release
to the platform's Admin, who co-manage the Escrow Account.. Click
here to read Freelancer / Expert's question about same kind of problem.
If the Provider does not complete the work, can
I get my money back?
1- No, if
you pay the chosen Provider/ freelancer directly whitout using the Escrow
Account (unless
both parties (provider and buyer) agreed for a refund when
finalizing the deal.) Please take note that
you will not be refunded for commissions paid to Freelance Wordwide.
That situation is anyway unlikely as
Freelance Worldwide's powering engine performs everything automatically and
withholds the commissions you owe Freelance Worldwide before you are allowed
to pick the bid-winner. And does the same with Provider/expert / Freelancer
/ bid-winner before he is allowed to bid on the project.
You will be notified
via email by Freelance Worldwide and asked to either accept or decline the
bid-winner. Once you accept the Provider/expert / freelancer, commissions
withheld when you pick the freelancer are definitely and automatically
transferred to Freelance Wordwide and you must fulfill agreement / contract
with the bid-winner and commissions and fees will not be refunded. Click
here to read Project Owner's question about same kind of problem.
2- Yes, if
you put the money in an escrow account on Freelance Worldwide as we strongly
advise you to do (login to your account managing panel - Manage
Account - and click on New Escrow Payment link
related to the project in question.)
And if the work is not started or completed,
then first email us and give us a complete breakdown on the situation. Then
just click on the "Withdraw Money " button. We will email
the freelancer and once we get confirmation that the work was not done, we
may approve your withdrawal. Click
here to read Freelancer / Expert's question about same kind of problem
However, please be kindly advised that once you strike
a deal with a Provider/freelancer, Freelance Worldwide is no more engaged
or responsible for the compliance of contracts. Please do
review Terms and Conditions here
available. In short, it is your responsibility to choose the
best qualified freelancer to undertake and perform the posted job
/ project.
Commissions, Payments and Fair Business:
In principle, things are simple - you place your project/ tender / job to be
performed by a Provider/ Expert / Freelancer. You choose the Provider/ winning
bidder /freelancer yourself and follow our policies and guidelines placed on
top of current page. Then the
system requests the automatic withholding of the amount of money necessary to
cover payment of commissions and fees and release contact information for you
to finalize the deal with the bid-winner as above and here
explained.
Please be kindly advised that accounts with negative balance for
30 days running will be automatically frozen by Freelance Worldwide's powering
engine. And bid cannot be placed on frozen account's projects. That's
why Freelance Worldwide grants you a bonus of $5 when you sign up to open your
account.
