2-BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT AFRICA:

2-1-WEST-AFRICA GAS PIPELINE PROJECT (WAGP):

A mega-project, devised four years ago, between the governments of Benin,
Ghana, Nigeria and Togo; national and international companies, to deliver
natural gas to power-stations and industries in the four countries, is finally
taking shape. At its completion, it will secure energy supply to these countries
for three decades. Amount of investment for installation of 1,000 kilometers
of pipeline and correlated infrastructures - from Nigeria to terminus Ghana -
is estimated at US$: 1.8 billions. Phase two will start soon for initial
engineering and environmental issues. The coordination is under
the supervision of CHEVRON OVERSEAS INC. In addition to the initial
investment of US$: 1.8 billions, hefty additional investments will be
needed to upgrade and improve equipment and efficiency of national
utilities companies involved.
There are investment and financing opportunities not to be missed!

2-2- BUSINESSES FOR SALE IN THE REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON -
CENTRAL AFRICA:

In order to restructure the national economy and abide to the World Bank
and International Monetary Fund recommendations, the government of the
Republic of Cameroon is selling its stakes in many companies operating
in agribusiness, insurance, telecommunications, utilities and banking sectors.
The crown-jewels among these companies for sale is the Cameroon
Development Corporation (CDC) owned at 100% by the government.
CDC is a huge agribusiness conglomerate active in the production of tea,
rubber, palm oil, banana.
Its turnover for 1998 fiscal year was US$: 69,000,000.

The other companies for sale are also worth considering. They have
an intrinsic potential to generate two digits profit growth if they
are operated under a dynamic and efficient management.
