Dear visitor and international investor,

We warmly welcome you, if this is your first visit to Africabiz Online - The ultimate newsletter on trading and investing in 49 sub-Saharan African countries. If you are a regular and faithful reader, welcome back.

- THE ENEMY WITHIN IS THE BIGGEST DESTABILIZATION FACTOR

Some middle-east nations - Syria in particular, are currently under siege, invaded by terrorists. They are experiencing big social and political turmoil, killing of prominent civil servants, and indiscriminate bombing of vital infrastructure, state buildings and cultural sites. Obviously the aim of the assault is to destabilize the state and take over the ruling power from the regime in place.

The Jamahariya regime of Libya had been targeted last year (January - November 2011) and succumbed to the assault as explained in following links [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

A political movement for democratic reform that started in the Syria Arab Republic - 19 months ago, with peaceful street rallies, transformed into a bloody battle between the regime and invaders/fanatics jihadist and terrorists - posing as Free Syrian Army, creating havoc in order to topple the regime.

The Jamahariya Libyan regime submitted to the same scenario fell into the hands of the invaders because people in power betrayed and worked with the intruders.

Apparently this is not happening in Syria. Indeed, in spite of few high rank defections in the Army and the political arena, the Syrian regime is showing an outstanding resistance to the invasion-assault.

Indeed, the regime benefits from a strong and adamant support from Russia and China at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Both powers teamed together to consistently block every single attempt made by western nations/Nato's members to have a mandate to intervene in Syria under United Nations Chapter VII.

Globally, the Syrian military - till now at the date of writing, remains loyal. This is a decisive factor for Syria resistance considering that it is not a professional army but one based on conscription. In addition to the loyalty of the army, the majority of Syrian people, at the date of this delivery is progressively siding with the regime - in reaction to the indiscriminate destruction of infrastructure, havoc and mayhem carried out by the invaders-terrorists.

The invasion-assault/war imposed on the Syrian nation, is a low intensity war as foreseen by Adolf Hitler, who stated,

"Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future."

And a Roman statesman, Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 B.C.), philosopher and orator wrote:

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.

He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."

Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination - that is exactly what happened in Libya from January 2011 to November 2011 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. This is also what is happening now in Syria, but apparently the traitors within are missing.

Above quotes are put forward to discus about the true reason behind the assault on Syria and Libya, under the guise of promoting democracy.

Indeed, all the blood spilt in Libya, and now in Syria has nothing to do with promoting "democracy". In the contrary, it is all about forcing independent states to becoming subservient clients to the powers of the day, which are determined to take full control of natural resources, production and distribution - wherever available, at any human cost - targeting nations they perceive as easy prey to conquer.

- MISCELLANEOUS SERIES: - BIOMASS HUGE POTENTIAL TO GENERATING POWER IN AFRICAN COUNTRIES

Africabiz Online dedicated a series to power-generation from biomass - plant material, vegetation, or agricultural waste used as a fuel or energy source.

This link concerns the introduction to biomass energy.
Here is a briefs about biogas as a strategic source of energy to developing.
This one gives ideas and hints on how to manufacture a small-scale biodigester to produce biogas.
And this link deals with energy self sufficiency through animal breeding and biogas production

The series dedicated to cereals cultivation shows [30, 31, 32, 33] that there are huge quantities of hay and vegetable wastes in African rural areas that are not use as raw materials to generate revenue.

Previous delivery here available shows that a 400 ha pineapple plantation producing 50 metric tons of fruits per hectare generate also 500 metric tons of leaves per hectare and per month.

One sees, visiting above links that African countries rural areas generate huge quantities of agricultural wastes, that could be processed as raw materials to manufacture animal feed, produce vegetable fibers products and electricity.

The link here available deals with waste management to producing electricity. Most cities in African countries do not make good use of huge quantities of waste available. They just simply landfill/bury them.

It would be a good developing practice to use all these vegetable wastes to generate electricity, produce biogas and fertilizer to boost the developing.

Here is a comprehensive feasibility study that deals with the use of wastes from forest management, agricultural development and municipalities garbage collection, to garner substantial revenue for communities.
