- HOW TO BACKUP WINDOWS DRIVERS OR RECOVER A PREVIOUS CONFIGURATION

There are at least two situations in which you need to have back in place and performing the original installed drivers or Dynamic Library links (DLLs) of your system: 1- When you reinstall the operating system. 2- Or when you need to reverse to a previous configuration.

In each of said situations it is frustrating to search for, locate and reinstall hundred of original Windows drivers or DLLs

Indeed with the 2000 and XP brands, Windows operating systems are more and more stable. The overall stability of other Windows 9x brands can be improved using tips available here.

However, your system may become fidgety if during the installation of a new piece of software an original Windows' DLL is replaced by the new software's DLL.

This should not occur if each installed software normally keeps its own DLL in its installation folder. Some programmers respect that rule and even keep their software "free" from Windows Registry. Unfortunately the majority of programers direct the installation of their software's DLLs into the Windows' folder called "System" and furthermore replace Windows' original drivers with their own. A conflict may then arise resulting in instability and even impeding the operating system to load, particularly when one is running Windows 95, 98 and Me.

What you need to avoiding the painful research and reinstallation of hundred of original DLLs is an utility, which backup Windows' original drivers or DLLs into a safe place on your harddisk

One such program, from JerMar Software Corp, is WinDriversBackup delivered in two flavors: 1- A freeware called Personal Edition,. 2- And a Pro version capable of doing the trick over a network.

Visit JerMar Software Corp's website and make your choice.
