MAILS AND DOCUMENTS / FILES SECURELY OVER THE
NET
We
have many times raised mail security problem here
in the "Control Your Desktop" or "Freebie
Of The Month" sections. If you are in business
and not using your mail system just for dad and
mom, you need to secure your mails from prying
eyes, competitors and most of all tax man and
Big Brother. Sending mail through your normal
mail system: Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express;
Eudora; Netscape Messenger and so on is exactly
like sending postal card by post office' snail
mail. You need other tools to send secure mail.
We have therefore introduced you to Hushmail,
ZixMail
and Camouflage.

Now here is a way of sending documents (doc; txt;)
or any file (exe; zip; mp3; gif and so on) over
the Internet as airtight encrypted attachments
using a combination of two of above listed encryption
/ secure systems:

1- Camouflage your files
or documents with CAMOUFLAGE. With the
latest version
you can camouflage in "one-go"
as many files as you want.
2- And then use ZixMail
System to compose your mail and attached
the shield of the camouflaged files.

A
better variant is to use ZixMail add-on (The big
red "Z")
in Microsoft Outlook:
1- Camouflage your files or documents
with CAMOUFLAGE
2- Then compose your cover mail in Outlook
3- Add the camouflaged documents in their
shield
as attachment.
4- Finish by hitting the "Z"

Make sure that your correspondent has your CAMOUFLAGE
password as your dispatch is double encrypted (ZixMail
and Camouflage).

IMPORTANT TIP:

a-
When "camouflaging" your files
and or documents, CAMOUFLAGE asks you to
select the file
(shield) into which files and or
documents will be camouflaged. You may select
any file (.doc; .exe; .txt, .zip; .PDF;
.mp3; .gif) for that purpose.
b- And when CAMOUFLAGE finished performing
its camouflaging tricks, it asks you to
give a new name to the shield.
c- Here resides a pitfall.
You have to make
sure that you really provide a new name.
If not, your correspondent,
even in possession of your valid CAMOUFLAGE
password cannot open the camouflaged dispatch.
d- If your shield /
file is for instance: record.doc
avoid new name like this: record.doc2.
e- True record.doc2
is a new name and CAMOUFLAGE will accept
it. However Windows
does not recognize .doc2;
it recognizes only .doc
f- The best new name should be for
instance newdiscovery.doc
Got it? In short the new name given to
the shield / file
should not change the final extension of
the old name of the shield.
