HOW
TO MINIMIZE THE OCCURRENCE OF WINDOWS HANG UP
AT START
In a previous issue, we brought to your attention
a desktop application "System Crash Modifier"
which is a wonder in minimizing the occurrences
of the "blue screen" and "hang Up".
Click
here for more. There is a new update Version
1.03 available here.
(Remark: It is highly
advised to uninstall previous version 1.02 through
Control Panel / Add /Remove Programs; then reboot
system before installing new version.)
Sometimes, hang up at Start / Loading of
Windows operating system is caused by applications
loading from the "StartUp" folder.
When two applications' names in that folder start
with similar alphabet / names - for instance Netscroller
and Net2phone - there is, from time to time, conflict
between them during the Start / loading process
of Windows.
To avoid or limit such conflicts, leading to the
hang up or blue screen, there is a simple way: alphabetically
rename applications in the "StartUp" folder:
- Click Start and choose Settings
and then Taskbar & Start Menu
- Click Start Menu Programs
- Then Click Advanced; you are presented
with the Exploring Start Menu
- Click Programs and then StartUp
folder
- Right click on Applications in
the StartUp folder and choose Rename
- And rename successively all applications
- For instance: Netscroller will becomes
a_Netscroller and Net2Phone: b_Net2Phone
- Close the Exploring Start Menu panel
- Click OK on the Taskbar panel
From now on all applications in the StartUp folder
shall load smoothly and contribute to lowering Windows'
hang up occurrence. |
